What happens
The meeting of the two families when the baraat arrives: fathers, uncles and brothers are paired across the two sides, garlanded, embraced (and sometimes lifted), and gifts are exchanged, with the dhol going throughout. In Sikh families the milni follows the ardas outside the gurdwara.
Vendors: dhol players, a photographer who knows the pairing order in advance, and a planner or MC to call the pairs.
