These terms cover your use of gigsona.com.
GigSona is a marketplace for South Asian weddings and celebrations across Canada. You can browse vendor profiles, plan multi-event celebrations, request and compare structured quotes, message vendors, and book and pay through GigSona, with payments processed by Stripe. The service contract for your event is between you and the vendor: GigSona provides the platform through which vendors offer their services and processes payments on the vendor's behalf.
GigSona Reels is a feed of short videos that vendors upload to their portfolios. Every video is the vendor's own content, uploaded under the Vendor Agreement, and GigSona reviews a video before it appears in Reels. You can save a reel to your account and share a link to its page on GigSona. If a reel shows you or your family without consent, uses content without permission, or is otherwise inappropriate, use Report on the reel — GigSona reviews every report and may remove a video at any time.
When you approve a quote, you confirm the booking by paying the deposit set on that quote through GigSona. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the event — or the full amount is payable at booking when the event is less than 30 days away. At checkout you choose whether to save your card: if you do, the balance is charged to it automatically on that date, and you can change or remove the card at any time from your booking page. If you don't save a card, nothing is charged automatically — we email you before the balance is due and you pay it from your booking page. Either way we remind you before the date. Each quote carries the vendor's cancellation policy, shown before you approve, and refunds follow that policy. GigSona's service fee is shown at checkout before you pay. That service fee covers GigSona's own service and is not refunded if you cancel, whichever cancellation policy the quote carries — including where that policy refunds the vendor's price in full. If GigSona cancels your booking, or the vendor cancels or fails to perform, you are refunded in full including the service fee.
If something goes wrong with a booking, you can report a problem from your booking page at any time before the event and up to 48 hours after it. A report pauses all payments to the vendor while GigSona reviews it and hears both sides — your vendor is not paid out until at least 3 business days after your event, so a timely report always reaches the money in time. After the 48-hour window we will still listen at support@gigsona.com, but the vendor may already have been paid, which limits what can be undone. Nothing here limits any rights you have with your card issuer.
If you ask your bank to reverse a payment (a chargeback) instead of using the report and cancellation process above, this is what happens. If the reversed payment is the deposit or the balance and the event has not taken place, the booking is cancelled: the vendor's date is released, no further payment is charged, and both you and the vendor are told. A booking cancelled this way is not reinstated if the bank later returns the money. If the reversal is upheld by your bank and GigSona's review finds that the vendor delivered what was booked, or that the card was used without its owner's permission, your account is suspended from making new bookings and any saved card is deleted; your other bookings are not cancelled, nothing further is taken from you, and you can still sign in, message your vendors and pay anything still owing. If the bank later reverses its decision, or GigSona records the reversal as its own error, a suspension caused by it is lifted. GigSona reviews every suspension and you can write to support@gigsona.com about it.
If a card issuer sends us an early warning about a payment on your booking, that warning alone does not suspend your account and never cancels a booking. We remove the card saved on that booking so it is not charged again, pause any automatic balance charges on your bookings until a person at GigSona has reviewed the warning, and tell you by email if a saved card was removed. You can still sign in, message your vendors, pay anything owing from your booking page and make new bookings with another card. If your bank later upholds a reversal of that payment, the paragraph above applies; if the payment is confirmed as legitimate, the pause is lifted. You can write to support@gigsona.com about any of this.
Until a quote is approved, all communication between customers and vendors must happen through GigSona. Messages may not contain phone numbers, email addresses, links, social media handles, or requests to pay or book outside the platform. Messages are automatically screened for these. Once a quote is approved, contact details are shared automatically so you can coordinate directly.
Messages and quotes sent through GigSona are stored on the platform, and authorised GigSona staff can read them where there is a reason to: investigating fraud or misuse, responding to a report or safety concern, resolving a dispute over a quote, booking, payment or chargeback, enforcing these Terms, helping you when you ask for support, or meeting a legal obligation. If a payment is disputed or reversed, the records of the booking — including messages exchanged through GigSona about it — may be provided to our payment processor, the card networks and the financial institutions deciding the dispute. We don't read conversations for any other reason, and we never sell message content, use it for advertising, or pass it to other vendors or customers. Our Privacy Policy sets this out in full.
Some vendor profiles on the site are sample data used for development and testing, clearly labelled “Demo profile.” These are not real businesses and cannot be contacted.
Don't misuse the site — including submitting false information, attempting to access data that isn't yours, or using the site to send spam or abusive messages to vendors or our team.
We may update these terms as GigSona develops. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
