What does it cost to list on GigSona?

Nothing to list. There is no listing fee, no monthly subscription, and no charge per lead. GigSona takes a 5% commission on bookings paid through the platform — the Founding Vendor rate for our first group of vendors.

Does the commission come out of my price?

The 5% commission is deducted from your payout — on a $5,000 booking you quote $5,000 and receive $4,750. GigSona charges the couple a separate service fee on top of your price. It never comes out of what you quote.

When do I get paid?

The couple pays your deposit when they accept the quote, and the balance is charged automatically 30 days before the event. Once you've completed one event with GigSona, deposits release about 3 business days after the couple pays, and the balance 3 business days after the event. On a Flexible cancellation policy the deposit is held until 30 days before the event, because that's how long the couple can still get it back — choosing Standard is what gets you paid early.

Why is the first booking held until after the event?

Because a new profile has no track record yet, and holding funds until an event is actually performed is what stops someone taking deposits for weddings they never intend to work. It applies once, to your first booking. It protects couples, and it protects every real vendor from what a scammer would otherwise do to the platform's reputation.

If a couple books me again, does that go through GigSona too?

Yes. A couple GigSona introduced you to stays on GigSona — the first booking and every one after it, including a different event for the same family. That introduction is what you are paying commission for, and it does not expire after one job.

What about couples I already worked with before joining?

Yours, entirely. GigSona takes nothing from work it did not bring you, and there is no obligation to route existing clients through the platform. The rule is about couples the platform introduced, not about your own book of business. That said, plenty of vendors choose to run their own bookings through GigSona anyway, for the peace of mind: the deposit and balance are collected on schedule, the cancellation terms are agreed in writing before anyone commits, and you stop chasing e-transfers the month of the wedding. If you want that, point the couple to your GigSona profile and ask them to request a quote — you send it from the quote builder exactly as you would for any other booking, and the service fee applies as normal.

What kind of businesses can join?

Any professional working South Asian weddings and celebrations in Canada — planners, photographers and videographers, DJs and MCs, live musicians and performers, entertainers, decorators and florists, caterers, beauty and mehndi artists, ceremony officiants, transportation, and stationery and gifting.
