A 360 booth is a platform with an arm that rotates a camera around whoever is standing on it, producing a short slow-motion clip. It draws a crowd and a queue, which is both the appeal and the constraint.
It is a different product from a photo booth — video rather than prints, spectacle rather than keepsake.
More than people expect. The arm sweeps a circle around the platform, so it needs roughly three metres of clear diameter plus room for the queue and the crowd watching, and enough ceiling height for the arm.
Give the supplier the venue name and the room. A 360 booth wedged into a corner cannot spin, and that is discovered at setup.
Fewer than a photo booth. Each clip takes 30 to 60 seconds plus getting on and off, so realistically 40 to 60 guests an hour, and less once people start going up in groups.
For 300 guests, that means most will not use it. Either accept it as a feature rather than an activity for everyone, or book more hours.
Usually by text, email or AirDrop within seconds, which is most of the point — the clips are on social media before the night ends.
Confirm the venue's wifi or mobile signal actually supports that. A 360 booth in a basement banquet hall with no signal delivers nothing on the night, and the supplier should have asked.
No published Canadian figures for 360 booth rental are specific enough to quote. What sets it: hours, whether an attendant is included, custom overlays and branding, props, lighting, and travel.
Ask what idle time costs. A booth delivered at 6pm for a 9pm opening is usually billed from delivery.
Different, not better. A 360 booth produces shareable video and draws a crowd; a photo booth produces prints people keep and moves guests through far faster. For a large guest list, the photo booth reaches more people.
The platform is raised and guests stand on it while an arm sweeps around them, so it suits people steady on their feet. Ask about platform height and whether a handrail or a ground-level option is available if you expect elderly guests to use it.
Three to four hours covers the window between dinner and the end of dancing, which is when it actually gets used. Booking it for the whole reception mostly buys idle time while everyone is seated.
