What happens
The Bengali turmeric ceremony, held separately for the bride and for the groom a day or two before the wedding: relatives apply turmeric paste, sweets are served, the setup is yellow and marigold from floor to ceiling, and the evening often turns into dancing with a dhol.
Vendors: decor (yellow and marigold, a stage or a seating area), a photographer, hair and makeup for the bride, catering for the sweets and the dinner, and a planner when the two sides host separate events.
